Saskatchewan’s Premiere Running and Walking Event Now Has a New Name! - Today, the volunteer organizers of the Queen City Marathon officially announced a major multi-year partnership with Saskatchewan credit unions to be the title sponsor of Saskatchewan’s premiere running and walking event: the Queen City Marathon.
Taking place on Sunday, September 12 this year, the annual race will now be known as the Credit Union Queen City Marathon. Representatives from Saskatchewan credit unions and the QCM announced the partnership and unveiled the new event name and logo at a press event held this morning at the City of Regina Sportsplex–Fieldhouse.
“We are very grateful for the tremendous support the businesses of Regina have given to this event over the past nine years and, through their continued help, we’ve seen this marathon get better and better,” says 2010 Volunteer Race Director, Doug Russell. “This partnership between Saskatchewan credit unions and the Queen City Marathon will not only revitalize our event’s name, it will also allow us to continue to enhance the race experience for every participant.“ {UNIVERAL}
“Saskatchewan credit unions are pleased to sponsor an event that welcomes runners and walkers to Regina from around the world,” says Pam Skotnitsky, SaskCentral’s Executive Vice-President, Corporate and Community Affairs. “We believe in re-investing our financial success in ways that help people realize their goals and dreams. The Queen City Marathon is a wonderful opportunity to have fun, promote a healthy lifestyle and support our community.”
The 10th Anniversary Credit Union Queen City Marathon will take place on Sunday, September 12, 2010. For race registration and information, log onto www.runqcm.com.
